Local Weather
We have had a lot of work installing the new robotic telescopes. The internet is now quite sable (4 megabits link), there is a general control room in which we host the weather PC. We still have problems of electricity from time to time, the batteries we bought in January already failed. They are going to be replaced by new ones, hopefully better in beginning of august. Pretty soon the SQM (Sky Quality Meter) will be installed (we need to recalibrate it), and All Sky camera will be online. We had a Boltwood sensor and it failed.
The following information comes out of a "La Crosse Technology WS-3600" installed at the observatory. It is normally updated every 5 minutes. Except when the link is down.

Here are some graphical information about the different instruments of the weather station.
This is still in test mode.

One can find previsions of weather for San Pedro (in reality I believe it must be more for Calama), on the wunderground site.
Pretty soon, we will start operating an all sky camera. This had been a long process with tries with different solutions. We are going to use a system sold by Alcor Systems Here is the first light image to show you what it will look like. The camera was positioned in front of the control room of the observatory during this test.
